The Simpsons clash with Loki in a new Disney Plus animated short

The Simpsons will clash with the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a new animated short film The Simpsons: The Good, The Bart and the Loki.

Disney announced the new film today, with Loki star voicing his iconic character for the short.

The studio also released a new poster (via ), which is seemingly inspired by the poster for Marvel’s 2019 blockbuster Avengers: Endgame, featuring several Simpsons characters portraying Marvel heroes and villains.

The poster features the Simpsons version of Loki in the center, with Bart Simpson looming alongside him, much like Thanos (Josh Brolin) in the Endgame poster.

Between Bart and Loki is Ned Flanders portraying Ant-Man, with Ralph Wiggum given a green look to portray The Incredible Hulk.

Interestingly enough, Lisa Simpson appears to be portraying Jane Foster, who, in a recent Marvel Comics run became Thor, which Natalie Portman is returning to play in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Carl Carlson, one of Homer Simpson’s co-workers at the nuclear power plant, is seen portraying Nick Fury on the poster.

Maude Flanders is seen as Captain Marvel while one-armed military antique store owner Herman Hermann is Captain America.

Young Milhouse portrays the archer Hawkeye, with Moe’s Tavern owner Moe as Vision, Agnes Skinner as Black Widow and Springfield drunkard Barney as Iron Man.

The short film follows Loki as he is, ‘banished from Asgard once again and must face his toughest opponents yet: the Simpsons and Springfield’s mightiest heroes.’

‘The God of Mischief teams up with Bart Simpson in the ultimate crossover event paying tribute to the Marvel Cinematic Universe of Super Heroes and villains,’ reads the short film’s description.

This is the second Simpsons short film in an ongoing series that utilizes the wide-ranging brands under the Disney umbrella.

The first short film, the Star Wars-themed Maggie Simpson in The Force Awakens from Its Nap, debuted in early May on the Disney Plus streaming service.

The fifth episode will debut Wednesday, July 7 with the sixth and final episode slated for Wednesday, July 14.
