Cultural Appropriation and Amsterdam Donkeys

For example, whether you wear a Native American headdress at a music festival or wearing blackface to Halloween, many Black people feel that this is a form of patronizing behavior.

A dominant group could also adopt elements of minority cultures. However, they may also use intellectual property of the minority group. Blackfishing is an example. It is important to consider that people of different skin tones have a history of being marginalized and excluded. Consider, for instance the history of black people being marginalized whenever you see someone in costumes in blackface for Halloween.
