Here are examples of the southern garden flags I developed for my own wargame armies; from top to bottom they are the 2nd Line Regt (Toledo), 1st Light Infantry (Castilla) and Royal-Etranger (which I think, was technically a French army unit). The Toledo flag is based on the regulations, and on a reconstruction of the standard for the 6th Regt. If the edges become tattered through wear, the flag should be repaired or replaced. These should be replaced with real or mock impls. I know too many developers who claim they have less than 40% of day time for real coding. Get to know the length of time the teacher has been in the school. “It’s time we got proud”, he said, “time we got patriotic. I got two flags made by Anley. I was also delighted to find that my unit sabots, which are 110mm deep, fit very nicely on the shelves, two deep. Very pleased to get back the first two of my proposed 4 groups of Spanish guerrilla infantry.

King Joseph’s (JN) Spanish – the Guard & the artillery are the same as French Line troops; non-Guard troops get the half rounded down when firing while moving, and infantry & cavalry troops suffer double (x2) retreats. I needed a flag for one of my new Peninsular War units – this is for the 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Infantry Regiment of Kleve-Berg, who in the Autumn of 1812 were part of Lamarque’s Division of Decaen’s Army of Catalonia, on counter-insurgency duty in Northern Spain. I still have a need to be able to fight big battles on a grand tactical level, with (preferably) units which correspond to brigades – this may still be 20-30 units, but the scale issues are different – I’ll come back to this in the next instalment of this post. They too are now waiting for flags. 2) There is now an accepted web forum and an array of support tools to enable CCN players to develop their own scenarios. And some volunteer artillery to support them – here we have the Artilleros Distinguedos de Avila. Since I am very keen on the weirder units in JM Bueno’s lovely book, these guys could have been wearing almost anything, but it occurs to me that if I dress them more conservatively as slightly out-of-date artillery of the line I get more options for their use.

This doesn’t sound like much of a great gig until you realise that all the rest of the Kleve-Berg units had been sent to Russia, so it could easily have been worse. Now I do realise that GMT will be releasing game expansions to cover more nations (the Spanish army is expected in August, I believe), so I look forward to seeing what the official versions are like – in the meantime, this is the revised crib sheet for my entirely unofficial version, for my own use. In this exhibition, titled every day the same again, the artist utilizes three white podiums arranged like a Minimalist installation from the 1960s and ‘70s (think Robert Morris or Donald Judd). The white flags would be carried on a blackened pole with a gilt spearhead finial and red cravat. Red Bull boss Christian Horner received an official warning by Qatar GP stewards and has offered to take part in a stewards’ programme next year after comments about the marshal who waved the yellow flags in the incident that led to Max Verstappen’s grid penalty.

Though the dining room of our house is a fairly dark room (this being where the battles take place), some perverse accident of astronomy means that the early morning sun in the Summer falls right on The Cupboard, so – to protect the red paint and the flags – I arranged for my wife to very kindly fit black blinds inside the glass doors. I may change my mind about this some time, but at present the troops live in the dark. CSEF prepares students to change the world by providing opportunities to practice effective communication, engage in ethical decision-making and independent problem-solving, and to understand the diverse, data-dense world around us. The flags and guns are removable so I can easily change it into another vessel if needed. Figures and guns are NapoleoN apart from the midget Kennington officer, who may not actually be visible in the picture. More Spanish volunteers – these are the Defensores de Fernando VII, an unusually smart looking unit from Castile, who started life as Kennington 1812 American militia (good idea, Mr Kinch – thanks for that). I’ve also changed the unit sizes a little where I felt strongly that they were inappropriate.
