– Always use a heavy duty tape (ex. duct tape) to safe lids to the containers

– Do not overstuff containers with sharps waste collection! Fill to roughly 2/3 full

– Sharps disposal units comparable to needle slicing and incineration units can be found- A needle cutter routinely stores the minimize needles and is beneficial when a disposal container will not be available

– A needle incinerator for non-medical facility use destroys needles by high heat and reduces them to BB-measurement balls
