The L20 Ultra, like most robotic cleaners uses lasers to scan your house and create maps. This makes it easier to navigate spaces, and also allows you to control the device via the app. It is also compatible with voice commands through Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant.

Its navigation abilities are impressive and it navigated easily through the furniture in my apartment. It got much of the dirt off my floors, and left them sparkling clean. The mopping function was not as efficient, however. It did not remove all of the marks left by my kitchen, and also failed to remove a coffee spill. The mopping function is very effective for cleaning dust and spilled food or drinks.

The base of the robot can be connected to a tap so that it will automatically fill and drain its tanks. This is an especially handy feature for people who live in a shared house, and it reduces the frequency of maintenance. The mops are washed and rinsed in the docking station following each use, and they can be washed up to 75 times before they require replacement. The app gives you plenty of flexibility, so you can choose your settings depending on the room. This includes setting a carpeted area, deciding on the order of cleaning and deciding how often the cleaner should return to the docking station to clean its mop pad.

It’s quiet enough to use while watching television. It can get quite loud on max suction mode, though it might require adjusting when you are watching the program.

Simple to Operate

The Dreame L30 Ultra has a great array of features that make it a reliable hands-free cleaning robot. It can mop and vacuum floors on its own, and its advanced navigation means it is extremely efficient in doing so. Its sophisticated navigation system helps to avoid obstacles and move forward without getting stuck or getting confused. It can recognize carpets, and return to the base station to detach the mop. This is useful for keeping your carpets looking good.

Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant can all be used to turn on, off and suspend the device. While this is a useful feature, the app provides much more functionality and is the most effective method to control it. It also has a built-in camera, which is a bonus feature, l30 ultra allowing you to see what the robot is up to while it is trawling around your home.

This robot vacuum is loud, just like many other top robot vacuums. It is not recommended for households with pets or children. It can be used in a quiet mode, but it still creates a lot of sound. It is also slow to move around, taking up to 45 minutes to complete a lap of my 20m2 apartment that isn’t covered by furniture or the huge box it came in.

Apart from its problems with noise and speed it is an impressive machine that does a great job of removing dirt and debris. It is excellent at tackling pet hair and other dust particles, however, it was a struggle to remove tough stains that were more than an hour old. It is also a bit confusing to setup and use, especially when you’re not a technologically adept.

It is also quite expensive to run, with the annual running costs expected to be in excess of $100 or equivalent. It’s a great cleaner and, thanks to its powerful motors, modern technology and other features, it is the best robot vacuum available on the market. The initial cost is worth it for those who live in large homes or need to keep their carpets looking good.
