The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

There’s a robot that can be found for any carpet type, whether it’s low-pile or high-pile. These machines are intelligent and can automatically navigate your home, suck up dirt and clean under furniture.

iRobot Roomba 694″

The Roomba 694 from iRobot is an entry-level robot vacuum that is able to work on carpets with low pile and bare floors. It has a good suction and is able to clean up most debris, though it isn’t able to handle bigger debris like rice or sand. It also does a good job at cleaning pet hair, but it’s not resistant to tangling like the premium Roomba models like the j7 or I6.

The Roomba is easy to use. It has three buttons on the top cover. Clean, which initiates a cleaning session and ‘Dock’, which puts it in its charging station, and ‘Spot,’ which activates a targeted cleaning. It can be controlled via an app for smartphones that allows you to schedule or stop/start cycles, and also adjust settings. This vacuum is a bit slower than other models, but it is still able to reach the majority of crevices and corners. It has a large bin which makes it much easier to empty. It is compatible with digital maps and virtual barriers, which allow you to restrict it to certain areas or even stop cleaning completely in order to prevent it from getting stuck on something.

It’s not the top robot vacuum for its price, but it’s superior to other models. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with better cleaning performance for carpets that are low and bare. It also has a longer-lasting battery and a cleaner route. It is also more robust, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, costs less over its lifetime, and charges faster than 694.

You should also consider other models within the iRobot range, including the v7 or the 981. The v7 and 981 are more expensive, but offer significant improvements in cleaning performance both on low and bare pile floors. They also have a bigger dirt compartment they charge faster, can move more easily, and are easier to pair up with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This budget self-emptying robot does a good job on hard floors as well as carpets with a low pile. Its combo brush reaches into corners and edges, and it automatically increases suction when it spots carpet. It also does a great job of cleaning embedded dirt from carpets in the middle of the pile. The IQ’s small dock footprint and self-emptying feature are great features. However, if you wish to change floor levels on the map or create no-go zones, you’ll have to manually reset it in order to do this, which can be quite trouble.

The IQ’s app comes with advanced mapping and automation features but it’s missing no-go zones that are available on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing navigational system results in superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, although it tends to get caught up on rug tassels. Its iHome speaker allows you to control the robot using voice commands.

During our tests during our tests, the IQ was adept at handling pet hair effectively, clearing an impressive amount of debris from bare floors and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was a little less efficient on shag carpets, which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It did a good job of maneuvering around the legs of chairs and tight spaces as well as the wooden base of an IKEA step stool. We did notice it was a little slower on bare floors, but it regained speed and performed more thoroughly than other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery life and is more adept at navigating obstacles. It comes with a mopping tool that can remove sticky mess. On the other side the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require replacement or maintenance, incurs lower recurring costs, and can create virtual no-go zones with its companion app. It can continue cleaning where it left off even if its battery runs out before it finishes. The iRobot can be controlled by voice commands, which is a huge benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The eufy RoboVac 11S isn’t the most feature-rich robot vacuum available, but it does offer great cleaning power for an affordable price. This robot vacuum is designed for budget-conscious consumers who don’t need a complex mapping system, or even an app, to control it. The robot is able to last for up to an hour. It includes a remote control, cleaning tool, and AC power adapter.

The 11S is slim, sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that appears like brushed aluminum. It’s a nice departure from the utilitarian and industrial designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.

The eufy11S performed well in our tests at removing larger particles and fine dust from floors. It struggled to deep clean medium and high-pile carpets. The device is prone to hit furniture and people along its course. However, it is able detect obstacles with sensors. When it comes across them, it stops and lets out a loud sound so you can manually steer it around the obstacle and get it back to work.

Another fantastic aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match the type of floor and level of mess. The remote control makes it easy to direct the 11S to your desired location.

Single Room Mode is a great alternative if you have a small amount of furniture in the area you want to vacuum. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.

Edge Cleaning is another option that limits the time spent on each surface to a maximum of 20 minutes. This will increase battery life. If you select this option the eufy can move in a spiral pattern to clean edges and corners for a thorough clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robot vacuum that can be a great performer on carpet. Its performance is also exceptional on floors that are not bare. It is able to remove rice and other fine debris effortlessly. The suction power doesn’t diminish when the dirt bin is full. Its air-sealed and allergy-friendly design traps allergens, keeping your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA filter and self-emptying dustbin, so you won’t need to purchase additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.

It’s not as powerful as more expensive models, but it’s great for deep cleaning and tackling stains. Two front cameras provide live images to your smartphone, and it comes with one of the most effective obstacles-avoiding systems we’ve seen. It has a large bin, a long runtime and a quick, bump-free cleanup.

The Complete C1 is unlike most robots in that it can switch between the standard head and turbo to suit different types of flooring. The turbo head is best with high-pile or low-pile carpeting, while the standard powerhead is good for bare floors and light carpets. It also has an automatic height adjustment system that enables it to adjust to different kinds of flooring without manual adjustments.
