This announcement was made by PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu in his speech at the Party Leadership School titled ‘Continuing to Defend the People’ at the Grand Sahid Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday. “The PKS Central Executive Board (DPP) in its meeting on Thursday, June 20, 2024, has decided to nominate Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan as the prospective governor and Mr. Sohibul Iman as the prospective deputy governor,” said Syaikhu. He explained that the decision by the PKS Central Executive Board (DPP) to nominate Anies and Sohibul Iman in the 2024 Jakarta Pilgub was based on the proposal from the PKS DKI Jakarta Regional Executive Board (DPW). “I have received a letter from the DPW DKI Jakarta structure that has nominated the DKI gubernatorial candidate to the DPP PKS, followed by the DKI deputy gubernatorial candidate to the DPP PKS, requesting approval and establishment of Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan and Mr. Mohammad Sohibul Iman as the gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates,” stated Syaikhu.

“Mr. Ahok and Mr. Djarot are being urged to run in North Sumatra. This is interesting because North Sumatra needs significant changes,” said Eriko at the PDIP DPP Office, Central Jakarta, as quoted on Friday (17/5/2024).
Previously, KPU RI member Idham Holik said that the use of Sirekap in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections aims for public transparency. “We will use Sirekap, and we will refer to the legal considerations of the Constitutional Court’s recent ruling in our evaluation and improvement of Sirekap for the regional elections on November 27, 2024,” said Idham when met by the media at the KPU RI Office, Jakarta, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
Besides Ahok, Rapidin mentioned several other names have registered with PDIP to run for the North Sumatra gubernatorial election. These include incumbent Edy Rahmayadi and Musa Rajekshah, also known as Ijeck.
The voter data updating system for this simultaneous regional election is different from the previous election. **Prepare Alternatives** The PKS Central Executive Board (DPP) nominated PKS Deputy Chair of the Syuro Council Mohamad Sohibul Iman as a prospective gubernatorial candidate for the Special Capital Region of Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada. Regarding this, political analyst Adi Prayitno sees this as a reasonable move. He noted that in addition to being a cadre party, PKS also has high voter support in Jakarta. “I think it is quite rational for PKS to nominate their internal cadre, Sohibul Iman, to run in the Jakarta Pilgub. There are two reasons: first, PKS is a cadre party that has always put forward its cadres to compete in Pilkada, not only in Jakarta but also in other regions,” he said to Liputan6.com on June 24, 2024. “The second reason is the significant increase in PKS’s legislative vote count in 2024, making them the highest vote-winner in Jakarta. These two variables explain why PKS proposed their internal cadre,” he added.
According to Irman, the DP4 data provided to the KPU is integrated with the voter identification system using fingerprints and iris scans. Thus, voter identities can be more assured, without duplicate identities. “The updated results will be further processed into the Provisional Voter List (DPS), which will eventually become the Final Voter List (DPT),” he said. He mentioned that the mechanism makes it easier if voter data is updated at any time. The DP4 data provided to the KPU is confirmed to be ready to be used as voter data for the simultaneous regional elections in December 2015. “Population data is dynamic; some pass away, some move, some retire from the military/police,” concluded Irman. “If the party instructs, I am ready to go anywhere, even Papua. That is the answer of a true cadre. All PDIP cadres must be ready to go anywhere if the party commands,” Rapidin recounted Ahok’s response.
Hasyim assured that if the Sirekap model for the 2024 Regional Elections is ready, it will be presented to the relevant commission in the DPR RI. “When it’s ready, we will report it in the hearing session with Commission II of the DPR,” said Hasyim.
Director General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Irman stated that in updating voter data for the simultaneous regional elections starting at the end of 2015, a one-door system is used. This ensures that there are no duplicate voter data. “The guarantee is that we manage the population database with an online system. Therefore, duplicate data, God willing, will no longer exist,” said Irman after the handover of the Potential Voter Population Data (DP4) at the Ministry of Home Affairs building in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 3, 2015.
