iRobot Combo Review

Combo is the first mop from iRobot and vacuum robot. It’s also one of the most stylish. The polished aluminum top and iRobot Logo are more classy than the loud designs from other competitors.

You can use the iRobot Home app to set up and guide your robot. The app tracks data about usage and maps of your house, including furniture and obstacles. Maps and image data is only shared with iRobot when you sign up.

It’s a mop

The Combo irobot is a very clever mopping Robot Vacuum Mops that combines all the features of the excellent Roomba J7+ and includes an on-board water reservoir, a tiny mopping pad, and a handy robot arm that raises and lowers the pad. It can do a lot of work in the 111 minutes it takes before running out of juice and returning to its base station for recharge.

The model comes with the Effortless Cleaning: iRobot Roomba i3 – Wi-Fi Enabled home app, which means you can begin and stop cleaning runs. It’s also a nice-looking robot, sporting matte black plastic that doesn’t show dust or fingerprints and a brushed aluminum top piece with a small iRobot logo.

It is a great vacuum cleaner, and it does not have any trouble crossing large areas of carpet or transition strips between flooring surfaces. It’s even able to capture fine dust that other robotic vacuums fail to pick up. However, it’s not so great in the field of mowing. It’s not able to remove dried milk stains unless you do it a few times.

iRobot’s dedicated Braava Jet M6 mopping machine, which is available in a bundle with the j7 Plus, often for less than the combo Combo and performs much better at this and other tough jobs. It is also able to clean up wine and ketchup spills, but I wouldn’t recommend sending it after any liquids that contain a large amount of sugar.

It’s a vacuum

It’s among the most attractive robot vacuums. The top of the piece is smooth and doesn’t show fingerprints or dust as easily as other models. Its tiny combo water tank and dustbin are easy to open and close, although they’re not the most efficient in terms of capacity. The Combo j7+ has all the smarts that you’d expect from irobot black friday deals. This includes maps and obstacle avoidance maps that work reliably and quickly. The mopping arm is what makes this model stand out in its class. It keeps the mop pad hidden away on top of the vacuum, but if it detects an area that requires mopping, it lowers the pad underneath and behind the robot. This is a significant improvement over other robot vacuums which require you to remove the mop pads to clean hard floors or carpets manually. It is possible to turn off the entire unit to mop.

It’s an electric charging station

Place your Combo irobot on the changing station and then align the metal contacts on the base. The charging station is simple to set up and operates well. In my tests it took just a few minutes for the robot to start charging and make a sound when it was completed. When the Combo iRobot is charged, you can start an exploration run within the app to help it better understand your home. The app also lets you to mark certain objects as permanent obstacles, like lamp cords. You can also connect Alexa or Google Assistant to your robot to allow voice commands for it to navigate around the house.

It’s a smart device

Combo irobots use acoustic and onboard sensors to discover the type of floor they’re navigating as well as the furniture in your home. It then combines this information with maps of your surroundings and data from the robot’s camera to develop a custom cleaning schedule for each room. This makes it intelligent enough to avoid your lamp cords, sofas and other objects you wish to keep intact. Of course, as with any connected device, there are concerns about the security of this data. However, iRobot claims that it will not sell customer information and no images are captured without the consent of the customer.
