Jacqueline Bisset stepped out on Wednesday for a spot of retail therapy for the first time since her bizarre appearance at Sunday’s Golden Globes.
The 69-year-old gave a rather odd and rambling acceptance speech that included several swear words as she took to the stage to be awarded the gong for Best Supporting Actress In A TV Show, Miniseries Or TV Movie for BBC drama Dancing On The Edge.
Picking up a piece of fine art in Beverly Hills, the acclaimed British actress kept her head down and sunglasses firmly in place as she was assisted in loading up her vehicle by a store employee.
Keeping her head down: Jacqueline Bisset was spotted out and about in Beverly Hills on Wednesday for the first time since her rambling Golden Globes acceptance speech at Sunday’s awards ceremony
Off-duty: The 69-year-old wore her thinning brunette tresses in a messy, unkempt style and her make-up to a minimum, with rose-coloured lips adding a pop of colour to her otherwise drab appearance
It was then off to a hardware store for some supplies, where once again she was helped to her dark grey SUV with her purchases.
The star, who divides her time between homes in England and Beverly Hills, was overdressed to say the least for the scorching hot weather in black leather pants, brown boots and a matching sweater.
She wore her shoulder-length chestnut locks down in a messy, unkempt style and carried a large black handbag over her shoulder and not one, but two pairs of reading glasses tucked into the neckline of her top.
Hot to trot: The British actress was overdressed for the scorching hot weather in black leather pants, brown boots and a matching sweater as she picked up a piece of fine art during her excursion
She’s making a list and checking it twice: The star had a checklist of items to pick up from the hardware store on her next stop for the afternoon, rummaging through her handbag to find it and ensure nothing was missed
Her make-up was kept simple and webpage natural aside from rose-coloured lips that accentuated her look and added a much-needed pop of colour to her outfit.
Following her headline-grabbing behaviour at the illustrious awards ceremony, the brunette insisted she had no recollection of her speech and especially swearing during it.
‘I can’t remember what I said. Somebody told me I swore?’ she told Page Six at an afterparty.
Shop till you drop: The acclaimed actress, who divides her time between homes in England and Beverly Hills, loaded up her car trunk full of purchases as she ran her various errands
Helping hand: A store assistant kindly wheeled the star’s purchases to her dark grey SUV
Can you take my bag, too? She may be a Golden Globe winner but Jacqueline seemed to be taking quite the liberty as she proffered her handbag up to be carried by the store clerk as well
Bisset put her consternation down to surprise that her category had come up so early in the evening’s proceedings.
‘I was told my category was coming up second from last, so I was absolutely stunned,’ she told Variety backstage. ‘I wondered why the guy was there with a camera on me.
‘I was completely out of it, I was thinking about my dinner. And I still haven’t gotten my dinner yet.’
Specs appeal: She may not have been dressed appropriately for the Californian weather in her decidedly wintry attire, but she did have glasses for almost every season, with round sunglasses shielding her eyes and two pairs of reading glasses tucked into her top
What was she thinking? Jacqueline had everyone scratching their heads with her bizarre acceptance speech at Sunday’s Golden Globes, during which she swore and rambled
‘I can’t remember what I said. Somebody told me I swore?’: Backstage and at the afterparty, the star insisted she had no recollection of her speech, saying she was ‘completely out of it’ thinking about dinner unaware her category was being announced so soon
