In the waning years of American vaudeville, a comedy act — later to be often called “The Three Stooges” — entered the general public’s eye. Their slapstick routines often consisted of situations typically resulting in one or more of them being hit, jarred or rattled in the top, and their work was wildly widespread.

The subsequent uniform revision would come in 1851; however, this iteration was short-lived.
