If you happen to learn by these horrid two paragraphs, I salute you. There isn’t any way that studying through the sordid tale of Dargonarth Silversun was tougher than writing it. Dargonarth’s story raises some fairly interesting questions, though. Dargonarth is a figment of a very gifted and proficient imagination. Second, is it even fair to develop on somebody’s work?

Did the Cataclysm gamble pay off? Almost definitely. It pushed the genre ahead for better or for worse, which is what Blizzard is known for doing. Revenues are up. Ironically, World of Warcraft seems to be settling into the model that each other MMO these days succeeds off of: a stable consumer base and sizable premium purchases. New mounts and pets, along with a devoted user base that does not fluctuate very much, is what makes a successful MMO today. We just do not know.
