A teenager has been charged with the murder of her father five months after allegedly attacking him with drain cleaner, having succumbed to his injuries.
Megan Joyce Imirowicz, 18, from , allegedly threw lye powder on her father, 64, with water, to produce a chemical reaction and cause severe burns on 1 October 2021.
The victim, who has only been identified as Imirowicz’s 64-year-old father, was found by neighbors in his Groveland Township home before being hospitalized for his injuries, which were chemical burns to the head, torso and ‘extremities’.
The Michigan teenager was initially facing charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm and misdemeanor domestic violence.
She has a court appearance scheduled for early April.
But since Mr Imirowicz died as a result of the injuries on March 6, 데이아 nearly five months after the alleged attack, Oakland County Prosecutors Office upgraded the charges to murder.

Police reported that teenager Imirowicz had been home when the incident began and left her father unconscious on the couch in their home before leaving the residence.
They later found the lye powder and water strewn over the couch after the 64-year-old was found by a neighbor and taken to hospital.
She was identified as the suspect in the attack by Michigan State Police after officers spoke to her father in Ascension Genesys Hospital, Grand Blanc, where he was being treated.

Police have not release information regarding a potential motive behind the alleged attack.
After the initial charges of assault, Imirowicz was released on bond but taken back into custody at Oakland County Jail this month after the death of her father and subsequent murder charge.
Imirowicz had just turned 18 years old two days before allegedly attacking her father.
