The mission of the Department of Kinesiology & Health is to attract students interested in advanced study in Kinesiology and Health Sciences, leading to a variety of careers such as teaching, research, coaching, fitness leadership, and delivering other services related to sports medicine, health promotion, high-performance athletic competition, rehabilitation, and Rotator Cuff KT Tape managing sport-related enterprises. Kinesiology also includes professional fields such as Clinical Exercise Physiology, Physical Education and Coaching, Athletic Training and Sport Administration. As a kinesiology graduate, you may find your career in athletic training and coaching, health and fitness businesses, physical education and therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation. Students can focus their studies on a choice of degree tracks, including allied health and pre-physical therapy, all-level teacher certification, athletic training, fitness leadership, and general kinesiology. Some examples include sport pedagogy, adapted physical activity, rehabilitation and lifetime fitness. Depending on your career goals, a kinesiology degree can prepare you to teach activities and habits that lay the foundation for a lifetime of good health. Graduates will be prepared to teach physical education, coach athletics, or work in the growing fields of exercise, fitness, and sports performance.

The kinesiology degree will prepare students for careers in human movement-related fields and advanced professional or graduate study. Sam Houston State University offers a choice of concentrations to students in the kinesiology degree program, including applied exercise science, clinical exercise science, general kinesiology, and physical education teacher education. The kinesiology degree at California State University – Northridge offers students a choice of six areas of focus for academic options, including athletic training, applied fitness, dance, exercise science, general studies, and physical education. What Can I Do With a Kinesiology Degree? A kinesiology degree can lead to careers in fitness, recreation, and education. A bachelor of kinesiology is typically a four-year undergraduate degree that studies the mechanics of human movement and exercise. Undergraduate students can choose one of five concentrations: Clinical Exercise Physiology, Neuromechanics, Performance Fitness, Sport Administration and Physical Education and Coaching. Kinesiology includes an array of disciplines such as exercise physiology, strength & conditioning, biomechanics, health and wellness, nutrition, neuromechanics and much more.

The undergraduate major in exercise science prepares students for graduate study in the exercise science sub-disciplines (biomechanics, exercise physiology, and motor behavior) while providing students with a foundational knowledge of research in the field. Sub-disciplines include human physiology, anatomy, neuroscience, psychology, motor control, and biomechanics. Students in the kinesiology degree take coursework grounded in physiology, anatomy, physics, and kinesiology. This unique degree offers science-based courses in the field of health. Courses to make up the GPA deficiency must be taken at UT Arlington. Students must complete at least nine hours toward the minor at UT Arlington. Kinesiology offers a comprehensive program of study in the science of human movement and is designed for students who want to prepare for professions involving physical activity and for graduate study in related areas. To achieve a certificate, it is usually important to analyze the Human Body structure and Physiology, together with Restorative massage Therapies; Acupressure; Reflexology; Neuromuscular Massage; Reiki; Thai Massage; along with other significant tutorials involving energy flow along with the human frame.
