Physical Education Teacher Education prepares you for Texas Teacher Certification in All-Level Physical Education, which will allow you to teach and coach in Texas public schools at the EC-12 level. Reports show that the demand for Kinesiology-related professions will increase for years to come. 4. Coaching, Athletic Administration and Recreation develops your knowledge and skills in coaching at all levels of a sport, as well as supporting the administrative aspects of sport organizations, preparing you for a career in one of many professional fields that are focused on physical activity. 5. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the structure and function of the human body and the stresses associated with movement, exercise and the demands of various physical activities. Kinesiology is the study of human movement and encompasses a diverse group of academic sub-disciplines, including exercise science, sport management, human performance, physical education, biomechanics, human ergonomics, recreation, sport performance, wellness and more. A BS degree in kinesiology can open up opportunities for career promotions, particularly for EMTs or paramedics and fire academy graduates who are looking to move up in rank. Personal Training Services – Tony has a fully equipped gym on-site so all assessment needs, muscle treatment needs and/or exercise conditioning needs are all conducted in one private facility. The Community Health Education emphasis is a career training program that prepares students for health education roles in public, non-profit, and private health organizations including government agencies, corporate wellness facilities, and clinical education programs. Examples include, but are not limited to, athletic training (available in the department), physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician’s assistant, podiatry, dentistry, and medicine. Many kinesiology students opt to earn a graduate degree in fields of rehabilitation and sports medicine. Physiotherapy is defined as a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialty that, by using mechanical force and movements, remediates impairments and promotes mobility, function, and quality of life through examination, diagnosis, prognosis, Swollen Ankles RockTape and physical intervention. The ES concentration prepares students for careers in area such as strength and conditioning, personal training, corporate wellness, and cardiac rehabilitation. Fitness, Athletic and Strength Training allows you to earn certification in sports nutrition, personal training, strength and conditioning, group exercise, special populations and corrective exercise.
