I bought this for my friends wife. I got it from one of my friends as a gift, it’s a very good quality sword, i can’t believe it’s only around $100. I will keep it in nice new condition and display due to its very well done quality and looks. Cost? Excellent. Quality? Sturdy. Very nicely made; it’s beautiful and feels very sturdy. The sword is pretty well balanced and its only flaw is the handle isn’t as pretty but with looking at it more thoroughly its very sturdy. It arrived with light oil on it, but I found 1 spot of rust(about 2mm long by .25mm wide – tiny) that I will sand off before I sharpen. I would have liked if it had come with a certificate about its HRC rating. It’s my first Samuri Sword, so I’m happy with the price and product. I planned to take off the handle and give the blade a black satin rustoleum coat, but it is so beautiful I’m not sure if I will now.

I got the electroplated black instead of red. The way they ship it is fantastic. Well balanced blade and the fact that they engrave for free is nice. They are pretty near indestuctable. That being said I don’t know for sure how katanas are graded traditionally so I’m giving this one 5 stars based on how it appeals to me. All the fittings are tight and beautiful. When I opened the box the first thing I noticed was how heavy it was . So when i saw it online i thought i should gave it a review. When the time is right, I will strike. The scabbard fits tightly too(actually too tight, but it will loosen over time). Who knows maybe there will be a zombie invasion or at least an over zealous salesman , could be fun .
